Tap

Tap dance is cool! This dance form combines a love of dance, music and performance and a discipline that teaches the dancer about choreography, improvisation and syncopation. It transforms the dancer from a mere performer into a fully-fledged percussive instrument.

The Tap System of Training

This System of Training encompasses diverse styles and is technically based yet modern and innovative. It is user friendly and promotes structured learning, incorporating barre, centre, corner work, combinations and routines. The use of the head, arms, corner and travelling steps provide a superb foundation for the performance work.

It includes Levels 1 to 15 with a strong focus on development and continuity throughout each level.

The System of Training includes:

  • extensive teaching notes, including anatomy and an accompanying DVD, CD and student theory book, to assist teachers and students in the technical attributes and execution of all work.
  • teacher’s own choreography or the opportunity to use the set dances provided.

The programme is designed to technically develop students to reach their full potential whether on a recreational, professional or teaching level.

When you dance to your own rhythm, life taps its toes to your beat

Tap dance is like Morse code for the soul

I wonder if Tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think “I’d tap that!
