Through education, collaboration and opportunity, we strive to inspire individuals to achieve their full artistic potential while fostering excellence across all areas of the dance industry.

 

Our Systems of Training are second to none and provide extensive graded training for dancers across a wide range of dance genres. Members regularly express their appreciation for the depth and quality of the ATOD syllabi, recognising the comprehensive approach within each genre and the extensive teaching notes that thoughtfully complement every exercise. These resources support teachers in delivering classes with confidence, consistency and creativity while nurturing strong technical foundations for students at every stage of their dance journey.

 

ATOD examinations also continue to be highly regarded and widely praised by members, with our experienced and highly skilled examiners creating a relaxed, encouraging and positive environment for both students and teachers alike. Examinations are conducted internationally and throughout all Australian states and territories, reflecting the strength and reputation of the organisation within the broader dance community.

 

A defining feature of the ATOD examination system is the extensive and detailed reporting provided to students and teachers. This valuable feedback process offers meaningful insight into student achievement, technical development and performance quality, enabling teachers to thoughtfully evaluate their teaching programs and support the continued advancement of their students in a constructive and educational manner. The professionalism, care and integrity embedded within the examination process continue to reinforce ATOD’s commitment to excellence in dance education and training.

 

The continued development of digital learning resources has further strengthened accessibility and engagement for both teachers and students. The ATOD@Work streaming platform for studio teachers, together with the dedicated student home training app, has enabled training materials to be accessed with greater ease, flexibility and convenience. These innovative platforms have enhanced learning opportunities, supported lesson preparation and encouraged ongoing engagement with ATOD training both within the studio environment and at home.

 

An important part of commitment of ATOD is reflected in the work of our Registered Training Organisation sector, which continues to provide high-quality education and training pathways for dance educators. The RTO remains a well-managed and respected training body, supporting educators to expand their knowledge and gain valuable qualifications in both dance teaching and management. This area of the organisation plays a significant role in developing future leaders within the industry and ensuring the ongoing advancement of dance education standards.
