Our innovative education and training courses assist all dancers, from those beginning their dance profession, through to experienced dance teachers.
Partnering with ATOD allows you to value-add to your dance studio, providing a fantastic opportunity to generate further revenue for your business. When you deliver our qualifications to your students, you will be provided with a significant support framework, and will be supported as you settle into this new partnership arrangement.
As the leaders in dance education, we look forward to working with you to build a mutually beneficial business model through the education of dancers.
Leah Belford
President ATOD
PARTNERING WITH AUSTRALIAN TEACHERS OF DANCING
The Certificate and Diploma programmes delivered by ATOD provide students with nationally recognised qualifications. These are underpinned by a standard of excellence which assists them to establish themselves professionally as they launch their dance careers.
ATOD does not lock you into a set programme with constricted delivery schedule. The units and courses can be tailored around the needs of your students and those of your studio. You decide what, how and when you train students within the constraints of the qualification.
We are bound by federal legislation and hold ultimate responsibility for the education of students. We report to government departments as necessary and ensure that all of our partners comply with legislation. Following completion of each course, we issue students with their final certificate.
With all of the legal information and administration covered by ATOD, as a valued partner, you are able to remain creative and concentrate on your students’ learning.

BECOMING A PARTNER
Before becoming a partner, please consider the following points:
1. Qualifications
Does a member of your organisation have either a TAE40110 (with two specific units), TAE40116 or TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification?
It is a requirement that at least one person has or is about to complete this qualification. An agreement can be started to permit limited advertisements of your course offerings, but no enrolments will be accepted. The person holding the TAE must have dance or musical theatre experience with appropriate qualifications in those areas.
2. Enrolments
How many students do you envisage enrolling in the next 12 months?
Class size is an important consideration over the longer term. Whilst a small number of students in the first year is a good starting point, fixed costs associated with small numbers means returns could be low to the studio.
3. Charges
How much will you charge per qualification and is it comparable to what others are offering?
Be sure to consider your fixed and variable costs associated with the course. If you are reconsidering charging fees that may be above the average, please be sure to outline your points of difference. You should also take into account other organisations within this space. These are your direct and indirect competitors, such as other dance schools and alternatives to dance such as sport.
4. Training material
Do you have appropriate training material or the resources to develop training material if required?
Have you considered how much development of training material will cost? At this stage, ATOD only provides comprehensive assessment materials and limited learning materials, as well as template and support services.
5. Administrative resources
Do you have adequate administrative resources to manage student enrolments and recording of student assessment submissions etc?
ATOD will take care of the VET reporting, but as a studio you will be required to maintain video evidence for a period of time, keep track of student progressions, track student enrolments information and maintain reports so that ATOD can complete the government reporting requirements. Your TAE will be required to mark student assessments, so marking and administrative time should be considered.
6. Compliance Requirements
ATOD is a Registered Training Organisation and therefore is required by legislation to comply with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTO’s) 2015, or its replacement standards. Therefore, our Auspicing Partners must also comply with all legislative requirements as indicated by ATOD. Failure to do so will place ATOD at risk of potential sanctions being imposed by the National Regulator, the Australian Skills and Quality Authority (ASQA). Our Partners need to factor in their own time and resources to ensure there are processes in place that demonstrate compliance with the associated legislative requirements. Alternatively, ATOD can provide support to our Auspicing Partners with developing their compliance processes, which would be at an hourly rate aligned with an agreed scope of work.
Before partnering with ATOD, it is recommended that you undertake a cost benefit analysis or seek independent advice to determine if this is the right decision for you.
If, after reviewing the above, you believe a partnership would add value to your business, we would love the opportunity to discuss this further with you. For further information on becoming a partner, please email rto@atod.net.au or phone 1800 106 227 and ask to speak with our RTO Manager.
