Pam has been involved with dancing for over 50 years, having commenced her ballet training at a young age. Her tuition started under the instruction of Frances Naylor and later with Paul Hammond. After teaching with Frances Naylor for a number of years Pam opened her own school in Dingley.
Her school has grown considerably, with many students enjoying professional careers in dance either performing or teaching in their own right. The Broadbent Dance Academy celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2006. Pam is a Licentiate Teacher, the highest qualification that can be achieved with Australian Teachers of Dancing Ltd. She is an A.T.O.D. Examiner and has examined extensively throughout Australia and overseas.
Pam is a member of the Jazz Moves Committee and has overseen the development of various syllabi and genre over a number of years. Pam is a former Victorian State Organiser and was President of A.T.O.D. from 1995 – 1999. She was the inaugural President of A.T.O.D. International from 2004 until her retirement from the position in 2006. She is currently a Director on the Board of A.T.O.D.I. Pam has represented the Company on many occasions in the Asian Pacific Region, teaching syllabus in various genres to many schools and teachers.
She has been instrumental in growing the company in the overseas market. She has enjoyed many cultural exchanges by taking students to perform overseas and by inviting and hosting reciprical visits. In 2007 Pam was awarded prestigious Life Membership with A.T.O.D. Ltd.
