Exam Requirements and Guidelines

Acrobatic Arts Pin Examinations
- If wishing to enter students for Acrobatic Arts Pin Exams, please click on the link above first. This is to check that they qualify to complete Acrobatic Arts Pin Exams on an ATOD Exam Day, before submitting for.
- If able to proceed, it is highly important to submit for Acrobatic Exams in your Exam Date Request form to ensure that a qualified ATOD Acrobatic Arts Examiner is allocated.

Requesting Exams
Examination Date Request form – Opens 7 Jan 2026
- Exam requests open 7 Jan 2026 and are due by 1 March 2026.
- Refer to pages 2 to 5 in the ‘Be in the Know’ Guide to assist you.
- Click on the link above to access and submit your Examination Date Requests.

Paperwork for Exams – 4 weeks out
- Click on the above link to access Exam Planner. This is where you enter student details, create your exam timetable and access your exams invoice.
- Your Exam Plan is due to be submitted at least 4 week before your exams.
- Refer to pages 6 to 12 in the ‘Be in the Know’ Guide to assist you. There is also a Help guide on the login screen.
- By submitting this form you are notifying Head Office that your Exam Plan is ready to be processed.
- Use the above link if you missed submitting this form in Exam Planner at the time of completing and locking your Exam Plan.
- We require copies of your Public Liability Certificate & Music Licence by this 4 week mark too.
- Required 4 weeks before exams if you are applying for a student.
- Click on the above link to submit. Supporting documentation is to be uploaded.
- Refer to the above link to ensure you are following the Omitted Exercises process for this year.
- This document includes the specific number of exercises that can be omitted for each genre/grade.
- Due at least 1 week out – please email your Omitted Exercise list in a document to admin@atod.net.au
- You will receive an email with a link to submit this 48 hours before your exams start.
- To be submitted within 48 hours of your exams starting and no later than 2 hours of your exams starting.
- An Examiner is not able to commence your exams on the day if this form has not been submitted.

Be ready for Exam Day
- Theory Books are required for Ballet & Tap (Bronze Medal to Gold Star) & Musical Theatre (Level 3 to Level 7). Members are to purchase these directly from the online store in the Member Login site – 1 per student.
- Theory Sheets are required for Ballet & Tap (Bronze Medal to Gold Star) only. Click on the above link and choose only ONE per grade – print 1 per student.
- Students will use their Theory Books to find the answers to complete their Theory Sheets prior to exams.
- On exam day the Examiner will review the completed Theory Sheets and will initial & stamp both the Theory Sheets & Theory Books.
- Musical Theatre exams include oral theory questions instead, therefore Theory Sheets are not required. On exam day the Examiner will ask the questions & initial the Theory Books.
- Refer to the link above to find out a little about your Examiner, including a photo of them (you may want to show your students leading into the weeks before exams!).
- This document also includes the necessary information of Examiner preferences/requirements for the day ie food, access to power etc.

A reminder on CCTV
- Examinations must not be video recorded by the teacher. If CCTV cameras are installed in the studio for security purposes, they must be turned off for the duration of examinations. This is detailed in the examination rule book.
If a student has missed an exam due to injury/sickness
- Refunds are available for students that are ill and injured only.
- Click on the link above to submit a Refund Request. This is required to be submitted within 6 weeks of your allocated exam date.
- Refund requests are reviewed once we have received the exam results from the Examiner.
