INVITATION TO ATTEND

Never before has a Convention been held in Australia bringing together Dance professionals from all genres to discuss and exchange ideas in both a practical and theoretical way.

The Convention will be held in Melbourne, the Arts capital of Australia and home to the Victorian College of Arts, making it the perfect place to launch the ‘Come Together’ Dance Convention.

The principal theme for the 2009 Convention is ‘Imagine, Inspire, Ignite’.

  • Imagine – Dance Professionals coming together to share knowledge
  • Inspire – Yourself and others to lifelong learning
  • Ignite – Your Passion for Dance

The ‘Come Together’ Dance Convention is expected to attract over 500 attendees nationally and will feature a number of outstanding speakers, such as Rhee Gold, pioneer of Dance Education in the USA, Li Cunxin, Author of Mao’s Last Dancer and Avigail Herman, singer and former Head of Music at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).

There will also be opportunities to attend specialised workshops, master classes, trade exhibition and displays, open days at The Australian Ballet School (ABS) and Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) as well as providing wonderful opportunities to meet and extend networks within Australia’s dance industry.

Delegates will include dance teachers from private practice, schools, colleges and universities, educators, practitioners and students from within the dance community.

Above all else, we invite you to enjoy the artistic flow of ideas exchange that will become synonymous with the ‘Come Together’ Dance Convention for years to come.
