Lisa Howell - Dance Physiotherapist, Perfect Form Physiotherapy
Lisa Howell is a physiotherapist specialising in the education and treatment of dancers. She owns and runs Perfect Form Physiotherapy in North Sydney, (NSW,Australia), and lectures internationally to ballet schools and organizations on improving technique and preventing injury, especially in relation to progressing students onto pointe.
Lisa has produced several resources to improve the knowledge base of dancers and teacher alike, and bridge the gap between sports medicine and the physical practice of all dance forms. "The Perfect Pointe Book" has been sold in over 63 countries, and "The Perfect Pointe System" (The Teachers Pre-Pointe Assessment System) won the award for "The Greatest Contribution to Dance Medicine" at the 2007 IADMS conference (International Association of Dance Medicine and Science).
Her aim is to develop a series of resources to allow dancers to have access to vital information that can change the way they work with and think about their bodies. She has created an extraordinary free resource in her website www.the balletblog.com to get well needed information out to dancers all over the world.
