Australasian Energetiks Scholarships 2011
Date: 31 July 2011
A wonderful weekend of 20th Birthday celebrations, dance and camaraderie was held on the weekend of 29 – 31 July in Sydney. The weekend’s festivities commenced on Friday with scholarship classes held at The Village Performing Arts Centre in Alexandria.
The Village PAC, run by Wayne Aspinall and Jacqui Howard, were so impressed with the standard of the dancing and the calibre of the students and the event that they offered 4 summer school scholarships to a recipient from each level of the jazz scholarships.
A welcome cocktail party reception was held at the Coogee Bay Hotel in Coogee that evening where many teachers, students and parents had a delightful evening. State Organiser Margaret Kirkness, President Karen Malek and ATOD Directors hosted the event.
Adjudicators included:
- Jacqui Howard – Jazz & David Atkins Award
- Marianne Howard – Tap & David Atkins Award
- Paul Malek – guest adjudicator for David Atkins Award
- Bertrand D’At, International guest adjudicator – Classical Ballet & Justine Summers Award
- Wayne Aspinall & Delia Harrington – guest adjudicators for Justine Summers Award.
The performances were held at the Science Theatre at the University of New South Wales in Kensington.
